Customer Question

I recently had an MRA of my biliary tree, to see a dilated duct in my liver. As it turns out this is the diagnosis on the MRA. I can retrieve medical records on the Clinic web site. The doctor did call me and told me I had cirrhosis, but I have more questions. Following is the results of the MRA. What is your interpretation? Cancer???
Findings: Hepatic nodular contour and consistent with cirrhosis. Impression:
1. Stable dilated common bile duct. 2. Cirrhosis with multiple cysts and stable inferior solid and cystic mass. 3. Central hepatic small focal area of enhancement and may represent a regenerating nodule. No suspicious finding to suggest HCC.

This is Dr. David

there is no cancer seen on the scan

only cirrhosis which is a hardening and fibrosis of your liver.

this can come from a long term use of alcohol

or in some patients, cirrhosis can occur from no alcohol use.

do you have a history of drinking alcohol?
