Customer Question

Hi- I had a CT scan of my abdomen because I have been having a sharp pain in my lower central/right abdomen almost pelvic area. The scan showed no abnormalities in that area, but the scan did show I have a 2 x 3 cm mass in my spleen. There is no indication
of swollen lymph nodes and my bloodwork has not shown any abnormalities (other than elevated ALP due to bone turnover as I am a breastfeeding mom of an 11 month old. What could this mass be and does it seem like it is likely to be cancerous?

Thank you for your question.
The most common cause of such a 'mass' in the spleen is a splenic hemangioma.
This is a harmless mass and it is not something to worry about at all if it is not causing you any symptoms.
So I would not worry at all.
Let me know if you have more questions.
Kind regards
