based on NCCN guidelines you should be treated with chemotherapy +/- RT, or tumor directed RT +/- chemotherapy, or pelvic RT +/- vaginal brachytherapy.

those are very specific guidelines.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the CA 125 level. it is much more of a guideline and used more specifically for ovarian cancer treatments.

at 85, it is not terribly elevated. and you will be getting some adjuvant (additional) therapy as well.

I would recommend a course of chemotherapy followed by a course of pelvic radiation therapy for 5 weeks.

well, if you decided against chemotherapy, then I think radiation therapy would benefit you to decrease your chances of the cancer coming back in your pelvis.

the whole pelvis would be radiated, where your uterus was, where the surgery was performed, and where the fallopian tubes where

it is hard. there is not a lot of data.

both do sort of different things.

the chemotherapy decreases the chances of the cancer coming back everywhere in the body.

the radiation decreases the chances of the cancer coming back in the pelvis.

that is a normal change after surgery.

well, because when we do surgeries for patients with T3a disease.

a percentage of patients will have cancer recurrence.

even when we think all of the cancer is cut out.

that chance for you I think is anywhere between 30-40%

that is why the NCCN has recommended the additional therapies.
