I have a 1992...

I have a 1992 oldsmobile 88 3.8 liter. It will crank but dies after a few seconds. I have replaced the fuel bump fuel filter mass air flow senser. It has spark but is still the same thing it has done along.

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you certain it's the fuel pressure sensor that's in need of attention? What about the fuel rail? Have you checked it yet?

After replacing the fuel bump it ran for a few months just find then one day it sputtered and died then what and crank back up so I got a fuel filter replaced it still nothing then I dropped the tank cleaned out the old gas put everything back together turn the key the fuel pump turned on still same problem I was told that if I unplug the mass airflow sensor and Crank It Up if a crank that it was the mass airflow sensor so I got one of those and replaced it still the same problem I checked the spark plugs they have spark the only thing I have not checked is the injectors but I don't know what to do to the injectors.

Yes nothing yet for the fuel rail.

does it have fuel at the fuel rail??

how much fuel pressure does it have?

I pushed the relief valve gas came out but it did not shoot out. I'm not sure what the fuel pressure is I don't have a gauge to check it.

Ignition ON Engine OFF .................... 40.5 to 47.0 psi
With Regulator Vacuum Applied .................... 3.0 - 10.0 psi less than Ignition ON Engine OFF

you need to test your pressure..but,,from the way you explain,,it sounds as if you dont have an injector pulse

if the pressure is good..i would think the crank sensor or the ignition module is bad,,,killing the injector pulse..the crank sensor was the common thing that would do this on this model

the ignition module is located under the coils

either of these could cause a loss of fuel injector pulse
