You answered a question about my bravada. I checked the rear

Customer Question

Gary, My name is ***** ***** you answered a question about my bravada. I checked the rear differential and it is the correct gear ratio. I was hoping for the wrong one because that would fix my problem. I have no other ideas. Just a side note, all the emails sent from just answer are coming out garbled and unreadable.

if you remove the front driveshaft from the transfer case to the front axle will it stop doing this ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sorry about the late response, had some family matters to attend to. I'll give it a try. will get back to you tomorrow. Is this safe to do?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

yes to just road test its safe too

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Will this tell me if the front axle is ok? And if it still does it maybe the transfer case?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

usually if it stops doing it with the axle out its the fluid in the transfer case or the transfer case internally

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
How could the fluid make a difference?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

if its wrong or dirty the transfer case clutches are chattering causing this issue

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Is this something I can change while in the vehicle or does it have to come out?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

yes there is a drain and fill plug right on the back of the case

use autotrakII fluid'

it should take close to 2 quarts to fill it

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Should I drain a little out and see how dirty it is? And what should it look like if bad?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

drain it out and fill it up and see if it gets better

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OK, I'' try disconnecting the front shaft first and then try to look at the oil in the transfer case. May take awhile. I have to work tomorrow. I'll get back to you as soon as I can do this. Thank you.
