I ordered a replacement fuser kit Xerox Work Centre 7220,

Customer Question

I ordered a replacement fuser kit for our Xerox Work Centre 7220, followed the instructions to replace it and it still says "Fuser needs replacement. Replace now.
I turned it off, unplugged it and turned it back on, but I'm still getting the same message.
Am I supposed to do something further, like reset the fuser?

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

You definitely need to reset the HFSI counter (or similar) for the fuser, in the service functions. I have no exact guide myself for this, but this YouTube video, though unfortunately on a Spanish-language model 7220, does at least seem to show some indication as to the process, starting by holding down the 0 key for a while, then pressing START also while doing so, after a fairly long interval... or the like:

This is a procedure supposed to work properly and to outline what is done in the video:

Press and hold 0 for 5 seconds or longer then pres Start.
Enter 6789 then ENTER.

This gets into service mode or diagnostics mode.

Find the HFSI counters. (See the video for this... bottom button on the left of the screen, tab, etc.)

HFSI codes and counters relative to fusers are these:

Fuser Count = 954-850
Fuser assy time count = 954-851
IBT assembly = 954-820
2nd BTR Unit = 954-821
IBT Cleaner = 954-822
