Hi, thank you. I think I'm having a miscarriage and I wanted to make sure that what I'm experiencing is normal.I started experiencing intense cramping on Wednesday April 19th and there was some blood. I would have been about 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant according to our tracking apps. I had heavy pain most of Wednesday and Thursday, and a little bit on Friday. It's been more mild and achey today, but not intense pain.

Wednesday evening and all day Thursday was heavy bleeding. Friday and today I would describe as medium bleeding

Have you noticed an nausea, or fevers? Is the blood bright red or dark? Any blood clots?

I've had a little bit of mild nausea here and there, and on Thursday I had a brief fever of 99.4 but it went down and I haven't had anything since. I've had a decent amount of blood clots. The blood clots are mostly dark and the blood is bright red.We had an ultrasound scheduled for May 2nd but we hadn't started working with a doctor yet

I had a mild fever of 99.4 on Thursday. I did not have any chills. I have been using over-the-counter pain killer to deal with the pain, such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen. This is my first pregnancy, so it has not happened before.

I have carefully reviewed your question and I understand that you are experiencing active bleeding with blood clots. Based on your symptoms, it is possible that you may be experiencing an active miscarriage.

In order to properly diagnose your condition and provide the best course of treatment, I suggest that you schedule an appointment for an ultrasound. An ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the inside of your uterus. This will help us to determine whether or not there is an active miscarriage and, if so, to determine the best course of action.

I understand. We had an appointment scheduled for an ultrasound on May 2 before the miscarriage. Is that too far out to wait? Should we go in sooner?

Sorry, one more question. Is there anything else we should expect as part of an active miscarriage in the time leading up to our appointment? For instance, how long can I expect mild pain for and how long should I expect to be bleeding?
