Painful Vaginal Pain. What Could It Be?

I just started about...

I just started about an hour ago have extremely painful vaginal pain I’m 4months pp and never had painful yeast infections in the past. I don’t know what it could be

Doctor's Assistant: The OB/GYN Doctor can help. Just a couple quick questions before I transfer you. Is the yeast infection constant or does it come and go?

I don’t know if that’s what it is. It’s just very painful

Doctor's Assistant: What type of pain is it? Is it sharp or dull, achey or stabbing?

I just stopped taking clindamycin oral for mastitis and I’m on novolog for my insulin

I’m a type 1 diabetic, just had baby 4 months ago, I have hypothyroidism/Hashimotos.

No discharge just a faint Oder but you can't smell unless you wipe.

Ok thanks for clarification.

You may have following possibilities:

1. Vaginal infection or vaginitis --can be yeast infection or a bacterial infection.

Vaginal swabs will confirm and help guide right treatment.

2. Hormone imbalance --decreased estrogen effect on vaginal lining can have sex painful and also dry.

Prescription Vaginal estrogen cream, or pill, or patch will help to resolve the problem.

3. Vaginal cyst, cervical dysplasia, abnormality --can cause pain also.

You can apply ice pack for pain relief.

Sitz baths. Soaking in a tub filled with a few inches of warm water (sitz bath) several times a day for three or four days may help.

Ibuprofen can be taken also for pain control --600 mg per dose 3 times daily

Please see a local clinic for further evaluation.
