Customer Question

I'm 28 and usually have a decent amount of discharge. But for about a month or so I've been experiencing vaginal dryness. What could possibly cause this?

I am happy to assist you.

The change you are experiencing can also occur from a couple of different things....

1. This could represent a temporary decrease in your estrogen level. This can happen due to variations in your menstrual cycle, medications, or stress.

2. This could be from an infection such as yeast or bacterial vaginosis.

If you are not having any discharge, or symptoms such as burning, pain, pain with intercourse to name a few, I would wait until your next period and see if this persists. If it does, then an evaluation by your gynecologist would be helpful to determine the cause.

If you are late for your period, then check a pregnancy test, but that would be a less likely cause.
