I am 16 weeks pregnant today and had an ibgyn appointment

Customer Question

I am 16 weeks pregnant today and had an ibgyn appointment yesterday. During a transvaginal U/S he said theres fluid in the cervical canal. My cervix is 3.1 cm, a little on the short side. He has asked me to see a high risk pregnancy doc asap. I am very concerned. I had swelling around the vulva last week and also swelling around the labia. I dont know how i am going to rest easy until i get that appntmnt. Please advise
JA: Any recent injuries? How long have you been dealing with the swelling?
Customer: No injuries. It lasted about a week
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: I have had 4 chemical pregnancies in the last 6 yrs and 1 ectopic, which didnt require surgery. They gave me a metathrexate shot. But they were all very early 5-7 weeks.

this means you might be leaking fluid from an incompetent cervix

have you had any live births?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
No live births. The doctor didnt seem to think it was Amniotic fluid abd said the cervix was closed on the inside. I dont have any discharge

I see.

In that case it could be an infection

is this helpful?
