Customer Question

Hi I have a gyno question I have a very light bleed some time I push to move bowels. Only see if I wipe. Last maybe a day or 2. I go to gyno every year last time there was December I had a pap then also. I also have very irregular periods I am 49. I chalk it up to perimenipause. I also have had 3 endometrial biopsies in the last 5 years because of the irregular periods. My doctor said my cervix bleeds easy last time I was there getting my pap. Can this be why.

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Given 3 negative endometrial biopsies risk of malignancy is very low.
Fragile blood vessels in the cervix can cause easy bleeding. Also due to the deficiency of progesterone as you approach menopause, the blood vessels may bleed more easily and do not stop bleeding fast enough. This can be part of normal changing process.
Do not worry.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
