JA: Hi. What do you want help with?
Customer: I have had a burning sensation inside my vag on and off. I just started my period yesterday and I tried to wear a Tampon today and that just seemed to make it start burning again what could this be from
JA: Are you in any pain? How regular are your periods?
Customer: Yes, the burning hurts. And I just started birth control last month & took my last one Sunday & my period started the day after that. But I hadn't actually had my period since September.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?

This is either a yeast or a bacterial vaginal infection and you need to see a doctor for an exam and cultures.

You could try Monistat or Lamisil for now to see if that helps, but if it doesn't you'll need either oral Diflucan or antibiotics to clear this up.
