Customer Question

I am about to start my period, however I have been having a slight pain around the lower side of my right side ovary area every time I sit down. I don't think it related to my menstrual cycle, since it has been going on for a week or so.
JA: Are you in any pain? How regular are your periods?
Customer: Regular. Slight pain, just uncomfortable.
JA: Is there anything else in your medical history you would like the gynecologist to know?
Customer: I've had x-ray done in the past, everything has always been normal. I just can't figure this out, almost like I'm pinching something, just concerned.

Hello and welcome. I'm Dr Chip

Any chance you might be pregnant?

Have you ever had this before?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
No, had tubes tide when I was 24. Plus like I said about to started my period.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 10 months ago.

OK.

Can you tell me exactly where the pain is?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Well if I'm sitting down it is on the right side where my leg bends to meet my body if that makes sense.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 10 months ago.

OK Then it isn't an ovary problem

You might have a femoral hernia there or it could just be a pulled muscle.

You need to have your doctor check it out and I would get a ct scan of your pelvis to see if it's a hernia

Please let me know if you need any more information

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
If it was ovary related what would be the problem?
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 10 months ago.

Possibly a ruptured ovarian cyst but your description of the location wouldn't be typical for that

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Well don't forget I'm dealing with menstrual cramps right now also, so kinda hard to pin point the pain.
I just know but it feels like t's right over my right ovary. It's just that as I sit and lean on it becomes like a pinch
on the pain, kinda weird.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
You still there?
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 10 months ago.

Sorry for the delay.

Then it could be a ruptured ovarian cyst and those are just painful and not serious.

It would take an ultrasound of your pelvis to check for that

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Ok, thank you.
