Hi, I've been spotting for 9 days mid cycle. I normally have 2 month cycles, last period on the 28th September. This is the 1st period in 10 months since I gave birth in November. What reasons am I spotting? Thank you
JA: Are you in any pain? How regular are your periods?
Customer: Every 2 months I have twinges, no pain. Mild cramps
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?

Most likely you're spotting because you haven't ovulated since your delivery. Ovulation keeps the uterine lining clean after a period. When a woman doesn't ovulate, she may still have a period, but the uterine lining doesn't clean off, so further spotting can occur, just like you're having.

Hopefully the spotting will resolve on its own in time. I would wait and see. If the spotting continues, then see your doctor. Some progesterone pills will usually resolve it. Best wishes.
