I am pregnant and feeling severely anxious about childbirth.

Customer Question

Hello, I am pregnant and feeling severely anxious about childbirth. A lot of people tell me the pain and etc will distract me but I strongly believe that when I get to the hospital I am going to have a panic attack and freak out. I am really really scared. Is there anything that can be done so I am not freaking out when in labor. I feel like I am going to be out of control. I have a severe phobia of vomiting. I am not so much worried about pain, ironically. Thanks in advance.

I'm Dr Chaithanya attending you.

Doctors will take care of everything.

They will.monitor your pulse, BP every minute, so don't worry

If you are so afraid, you can take an epidural injection which causes no pain or less pain during Labour.

This is a common procedure.

Imagine about the baby that is coming rather than the Labour.

If you freakout, that can affect the baby.

So be calm, don't bother about what others say

Talk to your doctor about this, you can get confidence
