Customer Question

My wife is about a month pregnant. We live about 1.5 hours up from New York city. My wife is 38, I'm 40. It appears that most of the obstetricians work for larger groups. Yo never know which doctor will deliver the baby. Do small practices exist? Do doctors ever travel for home deliveries?

You are not going to find a doctor that will come deliver at home.

Liability prevents this.

You might find a midwife group that will deliver in a birthing center, follow your wife into the hospital, or do home births...maybe.

Take a look here

But even that is highly unlikely.

Home births are universally considered dangerous by the regular OB profession in the US.
