Ob-Gyn questions? Ask a gynecologist online.
Hello, I'm Dr Manos, MD, board certified obgyn. You're only 43 years young, and menopause might not be for 10 or more years. You don't have any signs or symptoms suggesting infection. At this stage of your menstrual cycles the balance of hormones like estrogen and progesterone can change and the secretions of the vaginal lining can change. Discharge doesn't always mean somethings wrong. Tell me, when did you have your last period and has this secretion changed from day to or since the period? Do you need a panty liner?
Do you use some form of contraception and have your periods been heavier of late or a change in period discomfort?
It's possible you're not ovulating regularly and your cycles are always estrogen all month instead of progesterone two weeks each cycle. How's your weight been over recent years?
Well the weight is good. Fat cells actually convert cholesterol into estrogen and that throws things off. You might ask a Gyn doctor if you could take some progesterone based pills that may reduce the discharge of some type of cleansing douche off and on. Even a vinegar based douche but I think some progesterone would work better.
