Customer Question

Hi. I developed two sores a week ago. They were painless and pretty much didn't bother me. I have been tested for every STD & they were all negative. I did get a Dx of an UTI & BV. I started taking antibiotics. They were only two sores, but they are not scabbing, just looks like they are getting smaller. They are not tender anymore, but I developed two smaller painless sores. What could it be?

You note in your question that they were painless but later stated they are not tender any more. Are they itching or painful? Do they burn? What were you tested for?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
They don't itch, burn, and they are not painful. I was tested for every STD there is.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
They were tender because I bothered them so much., but now since I started the antibiotics, they are not tender anymore & sometimes it looks like they are shrinking.

Are you there?

Were you tested for herpes? Bear in mind that the test for herpes will only be positive about 60 percent of the time if it is present. Its not possible to even be tested for every std.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I was tested for ALL STDs, including herpes.

It sounds alot like herpes It would be a good idea to have them examined again unless you want to post a picture.

I will just get them examined again., but what are other causes of sores in vulva area?
Expert:  Dr. K. replied 1 year ago.

herpes and syphilis are the most common. Ingrown hairs may cause sores

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Can blood work detect these STDs?
Expert:  Dr. K. replied 1 year ago.
