This type of bleeding is still common in menopausal period.
The blood vessels can slough off from tissue shrinkage.
They can bleed a lot as they do not contract well.
Does not mean cancer right away.
Other benign causes include fibroid tumor in the uterus, endometrial thickening.
Please get it checked by your doctor.
The bleeding should stop on its own.
