Hi Dr.. I have a cyst on my right labia majora, the size of a large pimple. It is underneath the skin and it is painful to the touch.

It could be a large pimple, or it could be a Bartholin cyst, which occurs when the Bartholin gland (one on each side) gets blocked.

In either case, heat is the best treatment. I would sit in warm water or put a warm wash cloth on it and cover it with a heating pad.

If it doesn't get better, I would see your doctor.

If it's a Bartholin cyst abscess, it may need to be drained, but they are usually larger than pimple size.
