I have been admitted twice this week to hospital with pelvic

Customer Question

Hello, I have been admitted twice this week to hospital with pelvic pain, right sided and very severe. I had my period only 2 weeks ago. It hey scanned me and I have a cyst 3.8cm on my right ovary and a cyst 4.2cm on my left ovary. They said this would not be causing the pain. However I have now started bleeding very heavy like a heavy period and it has a weird grainy look. Could I have had another cyst that burst pre admission to hospital so therefore not seen? I've been told they won't remove the cysts until 5cm. Any help or advice? Thankyou.

Hello, this is Dr K.. Answers are not medical advice and do not constitute a doctor/patient relationship. I look forward to helping you today.
I am assuming you are not pregnant? Is this the time you are expecting your period? Are you on birth control?
These are medium size cysts They may or may not be causing the pain. 5 cm is a general guideline. Not a hard and fast rule. Cysts that are smaller are sometimes removed if they are suspected of causing pain.

Bleeding is not a sign of a cyst.
