VerifiedYes this could be a molar pregnancy. Was a pathology specimen sent in addition to the genetic study? If so, this question can be answered for you. The possibility of cancer is very low. Persistant mole occurs about 1 percent of the time. If a molar pregnancy is suspected, Levels of hcg need to be followed for 6 months and a chest xray should be done. So yes, you should avoid pregnancy for 6 months. I do realize you are 35, but from a clinical standpoint, 6 months will not change things.
