VerifiedThe 2 most likely causes of your itching are a yeast infection or an allergic reaction (possibly to tampons or underwear as you suspect). Since you're leaving for China today, it would be best if you could get checked for yeast infection before you go. If it's present, you could get treatment. If not, you'd know and be able to use something like hydrocortisone cream for the itching plus perhaps soak in some water with epsom salts. If you're not able to be checked, you could try one of the over the counter yeast creams. If the itch is gone within 1-2 days, you'll know it was a yeast infection. However, if the itch is from an allergic reaction, the cream might only make it worse. Best wishes and have a great trip.
