VerifiedHello, and I am pleased to help, use of my answers are for educational purposes only.
You do NOT need a hysterectomy, in other words you do NOT need to remove your uterus if this is JUST a simple cyst - meaning just fluid filled and then removing the ovary would be appropriate and leaving the other ovary.
However, you have to look at a few things - at age 43, the likelihood of getting pregnant is very unlikely (unless you go through IVF with a donor egg). Also, with a very large ovarian cyst - this NEEDS a close evaluation because there is a higher likelihood of ovarian cancer - and I would recommend that you have a gynecologist-Oncologist look at this. It would be impossible to look at all the pictures of the ultrasound online because most pelvic ultrasounds are about 40 to 80 pictures.
Mesothelioma has nothing to do with ovarian cancer.

I would not recommend leaving the uterus without the ovaries.
