Whenever you take the morning after pill (MAP) ,i.e. plan B you can expect to have abnormal bleeding. Whether it is effective depends on whether you took it in time and it was taken before ovulation occurred. The main way to know this when you get your period, although the period may be later and heavier than usual.
In your instance with the bleeding, which may not be heavier, is not a cause for concern at this time. Continue to monitor the bleeding, if you have pain localized to one side or start bleeding soaking a pad an hour for 6 or more hours then you need to be seen.
For now continue to monitor the bleeding. The color is indicative of how quickly the blood is coming out. The darker the color the longer it has taken for the blood to come out.

As explained above the reddish dark blood that you are experiencing is older blood. This will happen as you may not experience a normal period for the first cycle after taking the MAP. This bleeding may take longer to finish so don't be alarmed if it drags on for 7 days or more. By the next cycle your normal period should return.
