can you get shingles in your vaginal and anus areas? I have fibromyalgia and think maybe this could be a factor.

Yes you can get shingles in those areas - they do tend to be one-sided. Shingles is a reactivation of the "chicken pox" virus - or Varicella Zoster Virus - it is very similar in form and symptoms to the genital herpes virus as well. If you have active lesions there - you should see your gynecologist for an exam. Both viruses are treated with an antiherpetic medication - like Valtrex (Acyclovir), and will require a prescription for treatment.
