Verified6 week embryos are really tiny--about the size of a small bean. So they are hard to see on ultrasound. Usually you cannot seen an embryo on ultrasound until it is 8 weeks, which is why the dr said wait 2 weeks. This is also true for finding the baby's heartbeat. THe heartbea is not usually found at 2 weeks, but at 8 weeks the baby's heartbeat is often found (but not always, even if it is there). Again, thats why your dr said wait two weeks.
