I have gotten my period three times in one month, what could possibly be wrong with me?

How many days does these last? Was the bleeding heavy all the time? Are you on any medications?

Customer: replied 9 years ago.
My period has been heavy, the last two times. I had blood clotts the size of quarters the first time. My mom said that her periods are that heavy also and that its normal. I am not on any medications. I have not been on birth control for two years, but I have recently changed my diet drastically.

This duration and amount of bleeding puts you for risk of anemia and it should be investigated by an ultrasound and blood investigations. Following can be the causes;

1) Fibroid uterus

2) Uterine polyp

3) Endocervical polyp

4) Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism

5) High prolactin

6) Endometrial hyperplasia

7) Other hormonal aberrations

You need to consult your gynecologist for the evaluation and investigations. Please read the resource;
