1st of all I consider my self a fairly good shade mechanic I am using Nike plugs and did my own diagnosis for my main problem witch was cyl #1 misfire so checked compression cyl 1,2.3 @178-162-162 dry test checked for vacum leaks plug wires, fuel injector omes and power and many other checks that you would do to try and find something that works so I took it a repair shop that said they did electrical diagnostic and this is what they did and recommended ( job02 misfire test found intermittent spark from #1,compression @. 175psi,injector pulse ok,vacuum @ 18”, dynamic compression #1 50/125 psi #3 50/125 psi , recommen distributor and retest job03. Distributor ( replace distributor with customer supplied part and retest found engine still misfire, vacuum steady @17.5”,found cooling system not holding pressure ( customer has not added coolant found #1 plug wet? , performed leak down test 10%leakage past #1 cylinder rings/ into crankcase ( in the 3 years I have owned this truck i have never added any coolant and it has never overheated) ,preformed injector balance test #1 1 psi drop ( started at 31 psi) ,#3 18 psi drop ( started at 39 psi) ,#5 17 psi drop ( started at 37 psi), found #1 fuel injector not getting enough fuel to #1 cylinder, recommend #1 fuel injector replacement, adjust timing and retest ( I have not reset timing) also found MAF sensor sticking at 11 g/ s causing intermittent bogging/ no power ( I replaced maf sensor it stopped the bogging this is what the repair shop did and some of things i did so to recap Monday 8/3 replced maf drove home pulled codes P0300,P0404 reset drove around parked code read P0306 tues changed #6 plug drove around ran rough pulled code P0301 ,wed changed #1 fuel with rebuilt injector drove around about 1,5 miles Ron great parked no code thur started truck this is all after work since i am driving company truck this week code P0306 parked truck erase code friday started truck ran rough drove a few blocks parked ran code P0301 maybe tomorrow when i start it after work it will be somthing else so far no codes for #2,#3 #5 am i the only one with this problem looking online it seems everybody has their own misfire problem

Did you try draining the coolant out of it and see if it still misfires?

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Nissan Mechanic: Jay, Nissan Technician replied 11 days ago

You said you it won't hold pressure

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 11 days ago
Do you mean drain all the coolant out and run it and no the repair shop said it was not holding pressure but the radiator is always full every time i check it is full unless the radiator fairies are filling it at night while i sleep. What time are you available to talk I’m in California and it’s hot and smoky so i work on it when its cooler after work I’m working this Saturday and Sunday
Nissan Mechanic: Jay, Nissan Technician replied 10 days ago

I am on the East Coast. If a shop did a leak down, it only takes a small amount of coolant to seep into the cylinders to cause a misfire. If you would like to talk, that is fine. Just let me know when you are available and we can certainly do that as well.

If that was the case why does it keep going cyl #1 to cyl #6 after the truck sits over night and i restart
Nissan Mechanic: Jay, Nissan Technician replied 10 days ago

Cause when it's warmed up. As it cools down over night, it slowly bleeds down into the cylinders. So that is most likely a head gasket issue.

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 10 days ago
When i took it to the shop only the code was P0301 now P0306 and P0301 rotate what are the chances i have 2 blown head gaskets i think it’s electrical or it would have both codes. Well I’m off to work
Nissan Mechanic: Jay, Nissan Technician replied 10 days ago

I don't think it's electrical if it's bleeding down. The way you would know for sure if you pull spark plug number one out and if the top of the piston looks fairly clean and does not have the light layer of carbon build up on the piston face, that is cause coolant is washing it out.

Customer reply replied 10 days ago
I forgot to mention that this happened last December when my truck sat for a week during the winter rains and the code P0301 came up after I drove off a little while the code when away until just last month and you do not explain why the code p0301 and P0306 come up at the same time on a restart
Nissan Mechanic: Jay, Nissan Technician replied 10 days ago

As I stated, I would be looking at the piston faces. Other wise maybe a distributor issue.

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 10 days ago
The distributor has been replaced
Nissan Mechanic: Jay, Nissan Technician replied 10 days ago

If you used a after market one, they never work right. So it's still possible
