Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Ya I looked for it supposed tv be on driver side on bell housing but could not find it I have heard that heat could effect it truck over heated and blew head gasket could that have caused failure was running when torn down for head gasket replacment

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Ya fixed the short in wiring put in a new crank sensor but the old one tested good cranked it and showed no rpm so tried with starter fluid shows rpm while it runs with the starter fluid I think maybe maf sensor or distributer
Nissan Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 1 month ago

so you aren't getting fuel. it's not the maf or distributor

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
The pump is working just the injectors aren't firing any ideas
Nissan Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 1 month ago

the only thing the keeps the injectors from firing is the PCM. once the PCM sees engine rotation from the crank sensor, it sends a pulse command to the injectors

Have had to work back to back 12 hour days no time to look at truck but I had checked timing with my light before and it was firing on top dead center when it was at running temp could this be cause for crank sensor code
Nissan Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 1 month ago

should be at 10 degrees +/ 2

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
I am wondering if the code I am getting is caused by distributer timing I checked it and firing on top dead center I have looked online said it should be 5 degrees past but my manual says I can't change timing when I have a code
Nissan Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 1 month ago

not true. get the timing correct
