Customer Question
I have a 2004 Nissan...
I have a 2004 Nissan Titan 4WD. It has a code for air fuel ratio sensor bank 1 sensor 1. Replaced sensor. No change. Swapped sensor from bank 1 to bank 2. No change. Replaced ECM and had dealer program it. No change. Replaced IPDM. No change. Reading voltage through scan tool shows that sensor's output voltage is low compared to bank 2. Thinking wiring but don't know which one. What could it be?

Just finished running through the tests. Now that I had all the pinout diagrams I could run continuity tests. I thought for sure I was going to find a problem there. Unfortunately no. Good continuity on all 6 wires running to the ECM and the one to the IPDM. Then, I ran the voltage tests as described in the document you gave me. In order of the document they were:
2.7V
2.54V
2.03V
2.03V
Now, I don't have the greatest multimeter so I wouldn't be surprised if the actual voltages were a bit different than measured. Still are they close enough to what they should be?Next I ran a few voltage tests on the power wire (pin 3 on the air/ fuel sensor harness) It initially had 12.5 volts with just ignition on, engine not running. Then, I started the engine and a few minutes later it had 1.22V. I turned off the engine and a minute or two later with just ignition on, engine not running it had 4.45V. Is that normal? Does any of that give you a better idea of what the problem could be?One additional note. I noticed I have a P0300 code for random misfire on multiple cylinders. I think it's caused by the problem with the air/ fuel sensor but wanted you to have all the info.

ok, let me decipher all of this.

Nissan Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 7 months ago

the readings are ok as far as the test i sent. the different reading on pin 3 of the harness is baffling, i would have to research that. but, the p0300 is not related to the o2 sensor issue
