Installed cam sensor, cleared code, would not start after that and code came back

Nissan Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 7 months ago

Willey,

The other most common cause for the code P0340 to set on the 2.0 can be caused by a jumped timing chain and that will also set this code. I would start with removing the spark plugs and running a compression test. If the chain has jumped the compression will be low.

Customer reply replied 7 months ago
would it help to replace crankshaft sensor also?
Nissan Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 7 months ago

No, if you not setting a Crank sensor code its not the problem. I would run the compression test as your next step.

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
Ok I will check the compression and get beck with you. How low is low? And will all 4 be low?
Nissan Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 7 months ago

All four should be effected and anything less then 100 PSI would point towards the timing chain.

Ok I will do that next and get back with you
