Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 11 months ago

Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

OK, have you try charging through the hi side liquid side?

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

are you using small cans?

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
No I did not yes Im using small cans, could it be the Expansion Valve, why would not show pressure
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

if the compressor is not turning the clutch on you will not have pressure on the low side because the compressor has to create the pressure on the low side, but in order for that to happen you must have liquid pressure on the hi side first, yes this can also be the expansion valve. how many ounces where you able to get in to the low side ?

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
4 cans
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

through the low side ? that's to much Freon. turn the engine to run, turn the a/c on see if the clutch engaging to the compressor you should be able to see the clutch turning with the pulley, let me know if it is.

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
the high side will actually pull the low side into a vacuum what is that about
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
I did tell you that I charged the car not not once the compressor came on and there will be no refrigerant coming out of the low side
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

OK, compressor needs to go on to compress the Freon and turn it in to gas that's why you have no gas on the low side.

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

did you check for power at the compressor? with engine running and ac on max.

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
it has power
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

OK check the ground side does it has ground?

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

just put the test light to the alligator clip to the positive side of the battery and with the point of the test light touch the compressor see if the test light works.

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

there is only one wire going to the compressor and the compressor body is its own ground, if there is power going to the compressor and the ground test shows good then the problem is the compressor clutch burnt out

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
The compressor clutch will engage when weird directly. There is ground
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

did you said before that the compressor was getting power?

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

check with a voltmeter how many volts are originally going to the compressor on the original connector.

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

is possible that wire may be shorted and not delivering the right amount of volts to the compressor . is also possible that the a/c relay may be bad, and fuse #79 burnt

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
The fuse is good you have diagram where the relay
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

The compressor relay or A/C relay is located in the IPDM (intelligent power distribution module) and is not serviceable.

Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

If the Expansion Valve is closed shot would the low side hose Collaps from the a.c. compressor coming on?
I did all you recommended I can hear the compressor coming on but what ever refrigerant I but in it look as if it stayed on the low side and the hose collapses
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

you need an expansion valve. and after replacing the expansion valve vacuum the system for 15 minutes add one ounce of PAG oil then recharge to manufacture specs to 1.70 pounds of Freon throw the low side if you are using small cans.

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
Changed the expansion valve. Vacuumed the system to make sure I have no leaks turned it off when I got back to it is is showing 79 psi low side 75 psi on high I haven't put any thing in the system
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago

Hi , the reason for the expansion is cause by a possible saturated receiver drier. did you try vacuum again?

Ask Your Own Nissan Question
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
I have changed the dryer. But I did vacuum 2 times and it end UP 3g6I en me the same readings and it will release the pressure through the gauges it is there the gauges are function right. Please help
Nissan Mechanic: Ricardo Hohl, Master Certified Tech replied 11 months ago
