Hello, let me review your request. Please stand by.

Sorry about the wait, p1491 is a faulty in the Vacuum cut valve circuit. The valve is located near the evap canister.

Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 2 months ago.

And are you sure the other code is P0462 as that code is not specified for a 2001 frontier

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
it reads P0462 Fuel Level Sensor A Circuit Low Input

IS your vehicle 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
4 cylinder
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
correction , it is a 2002
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 2 months ago.

Ok, now i see it. P0462 is for the fuel level sensor circuit. Does your fuel guage work at all?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
fuel gauge works fine
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 2 months ago.

Then probably the problem is in the level sensor circuit. Very common issur on this model

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
what parts would be needed to repair these two issues P1491 and P0462
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 2 months ago.

For p0462 most common fault fuel level sensor in the gastank

For p1491 most common fault vacuum cut bypass valve next to the evap canister.

Do you have any other questions?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I can find the fuel level sensor, but I have searched /google searched for a 'Vacuum Cut Bypass Valve" and there is no part by that name for a Nissan Frontier XE 2002.... I find various 'purge valves' and 'cut off valves ' and 'air flow valves' but when I use the term "Vacuum Cut Bypass Valve" absolutely nothing comes up for this model Frontier. Pathfinder yes, but Frontier no
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
The thing that comes up on practically every parts website is "EGR Vacuum Controller", or "Purge Valve", or "EGR Vacuum Solenoid".....??????
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 2 months ago.

But you do not have an EGR code, you have a EVAP system code.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I know that, what I am saying is if you go to any parts website to purchase a part to fix P0462 that there isn't a "Vacuum Cut Bypass Valve" listed. YOu cannot buy one....any idea where you can buy one?
Expert:  Gunvir Singh replied 2 months ago.

Attached is the factory info for the code p1491. The part is going to be available only from nissan.
