Nissan Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello my name is ***** ***** thank you for your question.
Is this a 3.5 engine? on your 2003 Nissan Altima?
Thank you.. Are the sensors you replaced from your local auto parts store?
if they are dealer sensors and the vehicle only starts and runs with the sensor unplugged, that is normally a indication that the physical timing is off.
was there any engine work done on this car?
normally if you unplug the sensor and it runs, it's either 2 teeth off in the physical timing or you have a stuck timing sprocket. So this would require to have the engine put at top dead center to check the physical timing to determine how off the chains are. Then reset to resolve your issue.
