I replace the car battery. Now the car won't recognize the key fob. I tried the mechanical key and get the same message on the dash - "key is not detected".
JA: Have you checked the fob's battery?
Customer: That was just replaced a couple weeks ago at the dealer.
JA: What is the model/year of your Nissan?
Customer: 2012 Rogue
JA: Are you fixing your Rogue yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, I'm fixing myself. Very cold this morning. Would not start. Took out battery to auto parts store. They charged it, then checked it and determined it was no good. I bought new battery and installed it. Tried to start it and key would not work.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Hi Im David, the anti theft has you locked out and the only way to take care of the issue is with a Nissan only dealer diagnostic scan tool to reprogram the key to the transponder.
