Customer Question

My 2012 front or will not start after a mildly cold night
JA: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
Customer: It cranks fine
JA: What is the model of your '12 Nissan?
Customer: Frontier
JA: Are you fixing your Frontier yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Only trying to start...it did this last winter also...
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

We have no issues the rest of the year and we have had this truck since 2012 with no problems until last winter. When weather drops below freezing overnight it will not start. It is parked outside. We put de-icer in gas last year and it didn't help.

Can you give us a suggestion on how to fix it?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No just tell us what it is my husband can go from there.
Expert:  Chris(aka-Moose) replied 11 months ago.

One possible cause is the engine tried to start but failed and is now flooded.

Do you know how to check the fuel pressure, verify ignition spark and injector pulse are occurring?

Any codes stored?

What liter engine?

What now

The engine did not try to start and flood. It only cranked. It only does it after it sits all night with below freezing temperatures therefore we cannot simulate the conditions to "force" it to do it so we are wondering if this is a "Nissan" issue... My husband is very mechanically inclined and knows the usual stuff to check.

What must you do to get it to start after a freezing night?

We ended up trading the truck so the answer is not important anymore

Sorry you were not pleased with my help and spent money for something you no longer need.
