Nissan Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site. first of all why in the world do you want to know how to do a bypass of the knock sensors?
bypassing the knock sensors, first is possible but not recommended , second it has nothing to do with what is going on with the vehicle.
it is probably a timing issue, so the first thing i would do is put the engine at tdc and check the timing marks
you dont need a gauge. remove the number one spark plug, turn the crank manually until #1 piston come all the way up on its compression stroke. you can use a long screwdriver or extension to stick in the spark plug whole to watch it rise to the top. once you are there you will need to look at the crankshaft pulley and the camshaft sprockets to see if the timing marks are lined up
sure, standby please
heres the best way to show you.
read through this and see if you can determine anything
when you turn the key to the run position(not start) does the c.e.l. come on?
it should not go out until the engine is started.
check the timing is next. or do a compression test. there is nothing left to check until i know the results of those.
you dont need a light to check timing. you put #[email protected] and look at the marks on the crank shft pulley and he camshaft sprockets.. a compression test will verify the overall health of the engine.
