Nissan Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello my name is ***** ***** thank you for your question.
What brand battery are you getting? and where are you getting it for your remote?
I would get a battery from a CVS or local convenient store and try getting a name brand battery. Then see if that works. You don't know how long those batteries have been on the shelf at Advanced. CVS has a much better turn around which are more likely to have good fresh batteries.
Give that a try and let me know how you make out.
Do you have another remote you can try the battery in?
I am asking to try a battery from a different vendor and see if that helps. If the car is reading the key, it does check the status of the battery and if the battery is weak what so ever it puts that half bar up.
There is no special function for the battery level. It's all part of the push button start system

Ok.. Just let me know how you make out
I thought the light for the fob slot lite up when the car was attempted to start when nothing was in the slot?
Anyway, keep me posted after you change the remote battery
Yes, you can literally take the battery out of the remote and stick the remote into the fob slot and it will start the car.
So I am glad you finally changed the remote battery and it's working properly.

The remote battery has no affect how the remote is read in the fob slot.
