2011 Versa 1.6 base model sedan with 156,000 miles. Car overheated due to failed AC clutch, replaced clutch and belt, now service engine comes on. Code reads P0420 Permanent, current, and pending Catalyst system efft below threhold bank1. eplaced both O2 sensors
JA: How many miles are on the clutch? Has it been slipping or sticking?
Customer: Air conditioning clutch bad bearing burned up belt not the clutch for transaxle
JA: Are you fixing your Versa yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: friend car yes I am repairing car
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: cleared P0420 code after air conditioning repair, code P0420 came back after 100 miles, Cleared code and changed oil and both O2 sensors with OE part NTK, drove for 75 mile light came on same code P0420

Hey there, thanks for the question.

The P0420 code rarely comes on for anything other than a faulty catalyst.

Have you monitored the O2 sensor readings to see if they are mimicking?
