2006 nissan sentra se r spec v 2.5 liter 6 speed, 287,000

Customer Question

2006 nissan sentra se r spec v 2.5 liter 6 speed, 287,000 miles, rebuilt at 210,000 miles. replaced camshaft position sensor when code came up. Now, have P0011 code that no one at my local shop knows what to do about
JA: Which particular sensor are you asking about? And have any trouble codes been triggered?
Customer: all things seem fine. But the check engine light comes on, with P0011 code.
JA: Are you fixing your Sentra yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: replaced after market camshaft position sensor with nissan factory sensor. Light went off for about 100 miles
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

Hey there, thanks for the question.

This is not a cam sensor issue in most cases. It's an issue with the IVT solenoid.

Check your oil lever FIRST, because low oil will cause the code. If the oil is fine then then the other likelyhoods are sludge in the solenoid passage, and issue with the cam sprocket, or the solenoid itself.
