The driver side wiper arm moves easily up or down so is out

the driver side wiper arm moves easily up or down so is out of alignement and hits the passenger side wiper when they are running
JA: Have you checked the fuses? Do you know if there is power to the wiper motor?
Customer: the wiper runs, it is just misaligned
JA: What is the model/year of your Nissan?
Customer: 2011 Nissan Sentra
JA: Are you fixing your Sentra yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: basically just started. took cap off the nut that holds the arm and removed the nut.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Hello I will help,

Run the wipers then turn them off so the passenger side is in the park position then position the driver's in the parked position, lift the cover at the pivot point on the arm and tighten the nut to 17 ft lbs and it should operate normally again.
