Same problem that happens approximately once or twice a year

Customer Question

Same problem that happens approximately once or twice a year I press on the brake pedal just to brake slightly but it goes down to floor and vibration and dead stop.
JA: Have you tried cleaning and oiling the brake pedal's pivot under the dash?
Customer: Yes.
JA: What is the model/year of your Nissan?
Customer: 2006 armada
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Well I was at dealership and requested to do a known bulletin firmware update to the VDC.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Nop.

The brake master cylinder is at fault here. What is happening is when you brake lightly the fluid bypasses the seals inside the master and the fluid just recirculates inside and doesnt go thru the brake lines. Replacement is in order.

Very common problem and your description of the symptoms fits it EXACTLY.
