Have to shave heads, what all needs to come off 05 titan to pull the heads, have then machined and replace head gasket

Customer: 5.6L, 4x4, tow package

Customer: So far I have intake manifold off, radiator out and chain covers off. Thermostat housing off too.

Customer: Have not pulled the engine, as it looks like I can get to the heads without pulling.

Hi. At this point you need to remove the timing chains, the camshaft sprockets and the camshafts. Make sure the exhaust is unbolted, then just remove the head bolts

Any special tools needed and what else has to come off for front engine cover to come off.

You need a puller to remove the crankshaft pulley.

To get the front cover off the upper oil pan needs to be removed, the timing control solenoids and the intake timing sensors. and the crank pulley needs to be removed.

Yes. The chains need to be removed, then the cam sprockets then the camshafts so you can get to the head bolts.
