Customer Question

i just went out to start my Altima and it will not start. the brake pedal will not go down. the power is working however.
JA: Does the engine turn over? How old is the battery?
Customer: it just clicks. I think it might be the original battery (2012)
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: i haven't tried much of anything. I just went to my car. i am hoping i can fix it myself
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Nissan Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Hi im kevin where does it sound like click comes from ? In engine bay ? Is it just one click when key put to start position ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
hard to tell. But the more times i try to start the car, the click sound becomes less and less. It doesn't even sound like the car is close to starting though

Ok there are two posinilities on this one either the battery is low and nit strong enough to start or the starter motor has failed .do you have any way of attempting to jump start car ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
probably not until tomorrow
Expert:  Kevin replied 1 year ago.

Ok you will need to try a jump if this doesnt work then the starter motor needs to be replaced

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
i will try that tomorrow. thank you for your help
