JA: Does the engine turn over? How old is the battery?

JA: What year is your Xterra?

Customer: changed the whole distributor...did a ohm reading on coil and got 1.7ohms on primary and 12.38 kohms on secondry....the old one was 1.4ohms on pri and 12.27kohms on sec
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: scared to check for spark cuz i have no hei spark tester and dont want to blow my module/coil

testing module/coil with multimeter give me approx the same numbers with the old one and the replacement one

Do you have any background on the truck before this happened?
Check engine light on or running rough or anything?

not my truck...but check engine light comes on....last week it would start and once in a while it would till finally stopped run alltogether

Check and make sure the rotor is spinning when you crank the engine. It's possible the timing is off or the belt has broken, this causes the n spark sometimes.
