Hello my name is ***** ***** thank you for your question.

Was this the 5 disc update? You attempted to do this update yourself? How many miles on the car?

Expert:  Jay replied 1 year ago.

Chip? Isn't this the 5 disc update from Navtech?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No -not CD - memory chip
Expert:  Jay replied 1 year ago.

Where did you get this update? and how did you try to install it? Do you have the old chip?

Do you have a picture showing me your update chip?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Rec'd from Nissan - chip has access next to CD disc slot
Expert:  Jay replied 1 year ago.

Do you have the old chip? If you put the old chip in, does the system operate?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Does not seem you are familiar with system
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Does not operate with old chip
Expert:  Jay replied 1 year ago.

The systems are normally updated by CD's supplied from Navtech.

If the chip you installed, caused the internal radio update not to take, the radio would need to be removed and sent out for repair to resolve your issue.

Not according to Nissan - chip supplied by Nissan
Expert:  Jay replied 1 year ago.

If the CPU in the radio has a corrupt install, the radio would need to be removed to have the hard drive erased and re-writen with the new software. Cost of this is around 299.00. Navtech has been Nissan & Infiniti's navigation supplier since the early 2000's.

Either way, the radio will need to be removed and sent out to be repaired to correct your issue I am afraid.
