Altima: Tim, We are having a problem with a 2005 Nissan Altima

Customer Question

Tim, We are having a problem with a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5. When the a/c works it is ice cold. Freon level is fine, but at times the a?c just blows air. The lights on controls are lit but no power to compressor. Could the problem be the IPDM?

Hey there, thanks for the question. Generally when you have an issue like this it's because the freon levels are too high or low. When the pressure are really close to the threshhold pressure it will work most the time and sometimes quit working when they fall out of the limits and the pressure sensor cuts it out. If the system has been evacuated and the levels and pressures checked then a faulty pressure sensor could be at fault. I don't see the IPDM or front controls fail very often in this circuit.
