Customer Question

2010 Nissan Maxima with 90k miles and we have a "whine" when accelerating the engine even when sitting in park. Replaced the power steering pump and belt last October and have had a mechanic tell us the sound appears to be coming from the secondary controller on the intake but no existing or pending codes. Have checked, fluids see no leaks, no collapsed lines... Any thoughts on where to look next?

Hello my name is ***** ***** thank you for your question. Does this noise sound like it's coming from the engine or transmission? If you take all the belts off and start the engine, does it still make this noise?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it is a general noise that you hear when accelerating the engine. dont have ability to take the main belt off and on currently but sound does not change ac on or off but does seem a little louder when move steering wheel slightly when sitting in garage. no loss of power when driving and is consistent level whether on flat, uphill, or downhill
