This is normally a front trans pump that causes the whining. To resolve this, the transmission will need to be pressure checked and then removed and repaired if parts are available. Most Nissan CVT transmissions do not have certain parts available.

You mentioned you changed the trans fluid. Where did you get the fluid you serviced the trans with and what brand was it?
